my name is Nell. i am a 23 year old photographer from Lawrence, Kansas who specializes in concert and portrait photography.

my style is traditional, simple, and straightforward.  i draw most of my inspiration from music photographers in the 60s and 70s, when the shot had to be perfect right as the shutter clicked.

i began taking photos as a tiny child, and grew my love for the art while shooting with my grandfather's 35mm camera in a youth film photography class. after that, i just never stopped. my best friends shot alongside me for all of my teenage years, all of us helping each other grow and improve as artists.  somewhere along the way, other people decided they loved my work, and with support and generosity from all my people, this sweet little hobby of mine has grown into a business i never expected or planned.  i am so grateful.  i do, though, plan to go back to school to study art education and someday inspire and challenge kiddos just as i was by my teachers and mentors.  thank you for reading, your support of my work encourages me to carry on. camera strap tan forever!!
